It has already been announced that Stella McCartney plans to open a staggering six stores in India but today it was revealed that India is the new place for luxury shopping. It was recently revealed as one of the top ten designer fashion countries and now plans have been unveiled for the Emporio luxury center near New Delhi. The stores that are planned for the development are yet to be revealed but it is rumoured to include Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Cartier.

Hermès, and Giorgio Armani are also planning to open stores in India although the details of which are yet to be revealed. President and chief executive officer of Gucci told WWD, "India will represent one of the most interesting and fastest-growing markets for luxury brands in the next few years. But it will take time. The market needs to grow step-by-step to ensure solid development." It's an exciting time for the country and the luxury market, definitely one to watch.
